About

Led by Faculty. Driven by Students. Powered by Innovation.

The Veterinary Innovation Hub at the University of Illinois is dedicated to enhancing care delivery efficiency, seamlessly integrating technology, and fostering research and development partnerships.

History:

The College of Veterinary Medicine was honored to be one of 11 campus units awarded funding through the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s FY24 Investment for Growth (IFG) program to launch a bold new initiative: the Veterinary Innovation Hub. This transformative project aims to redefine what it means to be a land-grant institution in the 21st century by creating new technology-driven models for veterinary care delivery while expanding the college’s globally recognized educational programs for veterinarians, industry professionals, and animal owners.

As Dr. Jim Lowe, Associate Executive Dean and author of the proposal, explains, “By developing a vibrant community of clinicians, technologists, and educators, we aim to create technology-based care delivery systems that improve the consistency and quality of care across providers helping to solve the global challenge of limited access to quality medical care for animals and people.”
