Vetstar Login Notes:
- Vetstar accounts must be approved and requested by the VCM department. You must complete Medical Records and Vetstar training before you can have your login password set.
- The information stored in Vetstar is an electronic medical record. The same confidentiality rules used with the hospital's paper records apply to Vetstar records.
- Always use your own login. All data entry into Vetstar is audited. Your name will appear at the top right of the Client Patient Processing Screen when you are logged in.
Setting Your Vetstar Password - Detailed Instructions
Every six months, your password will expire and you will be required to create a new one. The Vetstar server will prompt you to change your password at that time. Following are the command prompts you will see, followed by a description of what you will enter (INSTRUCTIONS ARE TYPED IN ITALICS)
login: ENTER YOUR VETSTAR LOGIN
Password: ENTER YOUR CURRENT PASSWORD
Choose a new password.
Enter existing login password: ***REENTER YOUR CURRENT PASSWORD***
New password: ENTER YOUR NEW PASSWORD
Re-enter new password: REENTER YOUR NEW PASSWORDHints:
- The password must be at least 7 characters long, contain a mix of letters and numbers, and cannot contain a word (forward or backward).
- You need to enter your current password after you have logged in, and again before you enter the new password (you enter it twice).
- If you make a mistake, use the Delete key to backspace (or start over by pressing Ctrl/U). If you fail to enter your password correctly 3 times, your session will end. Close the telnet Window and start over.
