Nicole Godellas

Nicole is a post-doctoral fellow under the direction of Prof. Claudio Grosman. Her research largely focuses on the study of mechanistic aspects of ligand-gated ion-channel function, with an emphasis on the superfamily of pentameric ligand-gated ion channels. In her doctoral studies, Dr. Godellas developed a competition ligand-binding assay to elucidate functional characteristics of these receptors. Over the course of her T32 studies, she will evaluate the mechanistic effects of insecticides on pest vs. pollinator ion-channel function using her newly developed technique, among others.
