Luoyan Duan
Luoyan is a Toxicology scholar and Ph.D. student in Dr. Christopher Gaulke’s lab in the Department of Pathobiology. Her research focuses on understanding how exposure to commonly used fungicides alters the structure and function of the gut microbial community by using both zebrafish and mouse models. Luoyan also investigates how dietary components, particularly dietary fiber, modulate the host and microbial responses to fungicide exposure. Her work aims to uncover dietary strategies that may mitigate the adverse effects of environmental toxicants on gut health.
