Hongming Fan
Dr. Hongming Fan is a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Professor Stephen Boppart at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on the development and application of advanced nonlinear optical imaging techniques, including multiphoton microscopy, multiharmonic generation imaging, quantitative phase imaging (QPI), and super-resolution nonlinear multimodal systems.
Dr. Fan’s work aims to push the boundaries of label-free, high-resolution imaging for studying biological processes in live tissues. By integrating multiple imaging modalities, he is developing powerful platforms capable of revealing structural, metabolic, and molecular information simultaneously. His research is applied toward a variety of biomedical applications, such as early cancer diagnosis, investigation of cellular responses to environmental toxins like heavy metals, and real-time imaging of extracellular vesicle dynamics during aging and disease progression.
