Jeremiah Wanyama
Jeremiah is a Toxicology scholar and a PhD student in Dr. Christopher Gaulke’s lab in the Department of Pathobiology. His research work focuses on understanding the bidirectional impact of host-microbiota-xenobiotic exposures interactions on human health. Specifically, 1) how pesticides exposures disrupt gut microbiota structure and function, 2) how gut microbiota respond and resist the toxic effects of pesticides exposures, and 3) how this interplay promote cancer progression. His research work seeks to identify potential probiotics that could limit myriad pesticide induced adverse effects especially in high risk exposed individuals.
