Tuition Information
Program Costs
Our Master of Veterinary Science Degree follows the graduate base rate for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. These rates are subject to change each year.
- Online Graduate Professional Rate: $755 per credit hour*
- On-campus Graduate Base Rate:
- Resident: $7,026 per semester*
- Non-resident/international: $15,178 per semester*
We recommend using the Illinois Cost Calculator for an estimated cost of attendance. To calculate the estimated cost of your semester bill:
- Select your residency status
- Select ‘Graduate’ as your student level
- Select the first term you enrolled in the MVS, and which term you would like to see for estimated costs
- Select ‘Livestock Systems Health (Online) – MVS’ for the online program, or ‘Livestock Systems Health – MVS’ for the on-campus program
Tuition Payments and Deadlines
The full tuition payment is due on the 28th day of the month unless a student is enrolled in the optional UI-Pay Payment Plan:
- Fall tuition deadline: September 28th
- Spring tuition deadline: February 28th
- Summer tuition deadline: June 28th or July 28th
A payment plan allows students to spread out the total payments across multiple months. Students can learn more about how to enroll in a payment plan here.
Financial Aid
Students must complete a FAFSA form to determine eligibility for financial aid. For more information on the financial aid process, eligibility, and types of aid, please refer to the Office of Student Financial Aid.
Scholarships
We do have limited scholarships available upon admission to the MVS program. To be eligible for consideration, incoming students must be fully admitted and complete our scholarship application. Students who receive a scholarship will be notified of the award before their first semester begins.
* Tuition and fees are direct costs charged by the university. The cost of attendance also includes indirect cost allowances for food, housing, books, supplies and other expenses. You will not be billed by the university for these costs unless you live in university housing.
