Rosanne Peters – DVM, DACVIM (Neurology)

Dr. Rose Peters is an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Clinical Neurology at the University of Illinois, where she graduated from veterinary school in 2005. She was the head of the ER department in a New Orleans private practice before training at the University of Florida for her neurology residency. Dr. Peters spent almost a decade leading neurology services in New Orleans and Florida multi-specialty private practices before returning to the University of Illinois. She is dedicated to finding the most effective ways to empower veterinary students, house officers, and graduated veterinarians with the skills required to serve today’s community needs.

Approach to CNS Inflammatory Disease

Inflammatory diseases are relatively common in the Midwest and can be challenging cases to manage. This talk offers a practical clinical approach to the patient with inflammatory brain and/or spinal cord disease, with a mini-review of the most common disease syndromes.

A Visual Review of the Neurologic Exam and Lesion Localization – Part 1 & 2

The neurologic exam and being able to localize the lesion form the basis for successful management of neurologic cases. This talk is almost entirely composed of video and photographic examples of how to successfully perform the neurologic exam, along with examples of pathology that can aid in proper lesion localization. A special emphasis is given to “cardinal signs” that help with specific localization.
