Ero Capistrano – DVM, MSc, PhD

Dr. Ero Capistrano is a Research Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in the Department of Comparative Biosciences at the University of Illinois. She earned her DVM from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (Brazil) and completed a residency/MS program in small animal surgery at the Federal University of Vicosa (Brazil). She then went on to complete a two-year ophthalmology fellowship at Cornell University before coming to the University of Illinois to receive her Ph.D. in Comparative Biosciences, focusing on corneal healing.
