Signalment and history:
A 13 year old female spayed Labrador retriever is presented unable to walk after being backed over by a truck. Physical examination revealed a fracture of the left tibia with minor contusions over the fracture area. Radiographs of the pelvis were normal as were thoracic and abdominal radiographs. The dog has been healthy and there are no other problems noted on physical examination. The dog is a bit grumpy and does not like to be restrained or treated. The owners are very attached to the dog and will do anything you recommend to treat the fracture.
