Signalment and history:

A 5 year old male intact mixed breed dog was presented 1 day after he was accidentally shot. There was a large wound over the lateral thigh area. The dog was unable to bear weight on the affected rear limb.

Physical examination:

The rest of the physical examination was within normal limits. The owner is very concerned and is willing to do whatever is required. He is planning on having the person responsible for the shooting pay the bill.
