Signalment and history:

An 9 month old Bernese Mountain Dog was presented 1 day after he was hit by a car.

Physical examination:

The dog was non weight bearing on the left rear limb with a swollen left stifle and instability and crepitation of stifle area. There were no other abnormalities noted on physical examination. The owners are very willing to do what ever aftercare you suggest and believe they can confine the dog postoperatively.
