Signalment and history:

A 3 year old male 140 lb Great Dane is presented after being hit by a truck. Although the fracture appears closed, there are wounds and abrasions on the distal limb. No other injuries are apparent. The owners live on a farm and it is harvest time, but they can confine the dog to a small stall for as long as is needed.
