Signalment and history:

A 6 year old male intact Jack Russell terrier is presented one day after he was run over by the owner in the driveway. The dog is unable to support weight on either front limb although he tries to use the left forelimb.

Physical examination:

Thoracic radiographs show mild lung contusions and a fractured rib. The dog is normally a very active dog, but the owners appear willing to confine him to a cage while he recuperates.
