Victoria is a third-year student from Shelton, Conn. She is interested in anatomic pathology and veterinary forensics and hopes to combine the two in her future career.

Annie is a second-year student from Westfield, Ind. She is interested in mixed animal practice with a focus in non-profit or agricultural medicine in hopes to use her career to aid the less fortunate in a practical way. She is also interested in furthering her education with a certification in acupuncture, nutrition, or chiropractic.

Cristen Oxford

Cristen, a third-year student, says her primary mission in becoming a veterinarian is to serve clients and communities by providing quality care for their animals. She is interested in practice ownership and surgery. Originally from Benton, Ill., Cristen now resides in Urbana with her husband, Derek, and their wonderful mixed-breed dog, Archie.

Alicia, a first-year student from Itasca, Ill., is interested in mixed animal practice and practice ownership. She hopes to learn more about these interests throughout her time at Illinois. This summer she plans to complete an internship at a small equine breeding operation in Wisconsin.

Kayleen, a first-year student from Millington, Mich., hopes to practice in a clinical setting with small animals and equine as her future career. As an undergraduate at Michigan State University, she participated in many clubs, most prominently an equine student-organized non-profit.

Maya Zinke

Maya, a first-year student from Morrison, Ill., is interested in large animal theriogenology and genetics as well as in anatomic pathology and research. She currently works as a histotechnician in the college’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
