Hadley Family DOVE Scholarship (Diversifying Opportunity in Veterinary Education)

Fund is intended to advance diversity within the CVM and in turn, within the veterinary profession more broadly, by expanding educational opportunities in veterinary medicine for students in under-represented minority populations that might not otherwise be able to avail themselves of such opportunities. Preference shall be given to students who meet one or more of the following criteria: 1) Have attended a minority-serving institution (MSI), as defined by the Higher Education Act; 2) Are members of a federally recognized Native American tribe; 3) Demonstrate a history of active involvement in high school, undergraduate, community, or enrichment programs or organizations focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and empowerment of populations that are under-represented in veterinary medicine, including but not limited to: college or university cultural centers; sororities and fraternities affiliated with the National Pan-Hellenic Council, National APIA Panhellenic Association, or the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations; Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences; the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native American in Science; or 4) Demonstrate a commitment to continued efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the Unit and veterinary profession, including but not limited to active membership in Veterinarians as One Inclusive Community for Empowerment (VOICE) or other student organizations intended to advance and celebrate diversity in the field of veterinary medicine.
