For a resident of Kankakee or Iroquois County who has an interest in a career working with dogs or small animal research and who demonstrates abilities for a promising career in veterinary medicine.

Serena, a fourth-student from Grant Park, Ill., is interested in emergency medicine, chiropractic medicine, and acupuncture and hopes to include large animal patients in her chiropractic and acupuncture medical practices. She is currently interviewing at clinics in Illinois.
