Student must be in good academic standing, demonstrate the need for financial assistance, continuous membership in SCAVMA & CVMA, preference to students focusing on small animal practice. Essay topic “How I hope to benefit the veterinary profession in the Chicagoland area after graduation.

Melanie is a second-year student from the southside of Chicago, Ill. She is interested in small animal and zoo companion animal medicine, with the possibility of zoo medicine and emergency. Melanie would like one day to establish her own nonprofit mobile veterinary clinic to provide services to low-income communities in Chicago.
