For a student who is native to the Northern Illinois Veterinary Medical Association (NIVMA) region, is an active member of SCAVMA and plans to return and practice in the NIVMA region.

Crystal is a third-year student working towards her DVM/MPH degree. She hopes to pursue emergency medicine and later move into government work focused on public health. She is particularly interested in the One Health model and the influence of animal health on human health through viruses, bacteria, and parasites.
