Kelly, a fourth-year student from Marine, Ill., aims to combine laboratory animal medicine, pathology, and research in her future career. She is guided by an interest in comparative biology, translational medicine, and animal welfare and plans to pursue a residency after a brief hiatus to care for her grandparents in St. Louis.
