Wildlife Encounters: Kindergarten - 4th Grade
Lesson 4: Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation Challenges: Stress

stressTo most wild animals, humans look like another predator! When wildlife veterinarians and rehabilitators need to handle wildlife to provide care, the animals are very scared and stressed.

Even just keeping wildlife in a cage can be very stressful. As a result, sometimes the animals do not eat when they are at the rehabilitation facility.

It requires very special captive care to minimize the wild animals' stress.
