Rehabilitation Challenges: Hiding Pain

In the wild, animals try to hide when they are hurt or sick so that predators will not know they are weak. Because people look like predators to many wild animals, they hide if they are in pain when they are at rehabilitation facilities. This makes it hard to know how sick an animal is or if the animal needs more pain medication.
