Her research largely focuses on the study of mechanistic aspects of ligand-gated ion-channel function, with an emphasis on the superfamily of pentameric ligand-gated ion channels.\u00a0In her doctoral studies, Dr. Godellas\u00a0developed a competition ligand-binding assay to elucidate functional characteristics of these receptors.
