Her research interest includes identifying coronary microvascular disease (CMD) specific biomarkers that can be potentially used as a diagnostic test. Currently, she has identified biologically relevant metabolites of microvessel function to be significantly different in postmenopausal women with CMD. Presently, she is analyzing inflammatory cytokines and other protein markers relevant to cardiovascular health. Because of recent studies relating exposure to high levels of PFAS and the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, an interest in investigating the risk of cardiovascular diseases and levels of PFAS compounds among postmenopausal women has been developed.
