Tauseef Bashir Shah

Interdisciplinary Environmental Toxicology Scholar – I am a Molecular and Integrative Physiology Ph.D. Candidate in Dr. Romana Nowak’s laboratory in the department of Animal Sciences. I am studying the effects of phthalates more specifically Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) in exacerbation of neuroinflammation in Mouse model of endometriosis. I evaluate the microglial phenotypes in brain and spinal cord that may indicate inflammatory changes in these cells. Moreover, I study the inflammatory response of primary glial cultures when exposed to Mono(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (MEHP) or environmentally relevant mixture of phthalate and phthalate metabolites.
