Mentors and work/life balance with potential for ownership
How would you like to live in a place where you can hunt, fish, hike, ski, canoe, or any other outdoor activity imaginable, and also have a work schedule that allows you to do all of that?
Welcome to your dream job!
We are THREE experienced general practitioners looking for at least one new or recent graduate to mentor. We’ve got a UW-Madison grad, a UC-Davis grad, and U of Illinois grad. All of us have ownership experience and would love to help someone start their career off right by showing him or her how to avoid imposter syndrome and burnout.
Our dog and cat, general practice clinic has been around for over 25 years and is still growing. Our staff and management team are fantastic. The majority of our client interactions are a true pleasure. We do offer referrals but the majority of our clients prefer to stay with us, which means that our case load is varied and offers continual opportunities for learning, even for the old fogies that are already working here.
We offer a four day work week with rotating half-day Saturdays for a full time associate, and can negotiate if you’re looking for part time. There is no on-call, no evening hours, and the weekends are limited to four hours one Saturday per month.
Our benefit package is extensive and negotiable. There is most definitely buy-in or buy-out potential in this 100% privately owned practice.
Wisconsin Rapids is a town of about 20,000 residents, so we’re not small, yet nature is constantly in view. Bald eagles hunt on the river that cuts through the center of town. Everything from coyotes to mountain lions have been spotted around the two biggest lakes on the outskirts of town. We have black bear sightings right in town every year or two. We water-ski, wake board, swim, fish, hike, bicycle, and roller blade in the warm seasons. We have a skate park, a water park, multiple parks, and miles of walking trails. In the winter, we snow mobile, cross-country and downhill ski, snowboard, and ice fish. Oh: hunting is also a popular pass time, so if you love to work with hunting dogs, you’ll find your niche here!
If the outdoors aren’t your cup of tea but you also don’t want to live in a big city, we are within two hours of Appleton, GreenBay, Madison, and the famous Wisconsin Dells — and it’s only a four hour drive to Chicago.
If any or all of that interests you, please give us a call or shoot us an e-mail. We’d love to hear from you!
