Katherine Irwin, Academic Student Affairs Veterinary Medical Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has been with the College of Veterinary Medicine since February 2017.

Using 10 words or less, describe what your role at the college is:
To be a resource for students with academic or emotional concerns.
My office is located right outside ASA & my room is 2271A. Please come by and say hi!

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is meeting with students and helping with emotional and academic needs. I especially enjoy seeing students who are overwhelmed or struggling emotionally find healthy outlets and experience some freedom from their struggles. I love being able to meet students and support them during their journey through the four years at the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Being a part of iVLE—I loved the team-building activities, which were a BLAST!

What would your coworkers be surprised to learn about your life outside of work?
I am going to start taking a pottery class and cooking class. I like to try new activities to spice life up!

Do you have any pets?
My dog Coco passed away last December, and she was a part of my life for 14 years. I am still deciding on my next pet and open to suggestions!
