After receiving her DVM degree from Ohio State University in 1986, Dr. Morin completed an internship and residency in food animal medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois. She joined the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine as an Assistant Professor after finishing her residency and Master's degree, and became board certified in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She spent much of her career as a food animal clinician, educator, and researcher at the University of Illinois, and was awarded tenure during that time. In 2004, she became Director of the University's Agricultural Animal Care and Use Program (AACUP), and served as the Attending Veterinarian for Agricultural Animals for eight years. During the latter half of her time in AACUP, she also served as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Curriculum at the College of Veterinary Medicine, a position that would later become full-time. As Assistant Dean, she was involved in development and administration of the Illinois Integrated Veterinary Professional Curriculum. In 2016, she transitioned to Director of the College's Clinical Skills Learning Center, a position she held until retirement in 2018. Her research interests over the years have included bovine mastitis, milk quality, food animal medicine, animal well-being, and veterinary education. She is currently an Emerita Professor at the College and serves as a site visitor for the AVMA Council on Education.
