    Criteria: For current membership in the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association and the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, with demonstrated exemplary service and leadership in any of the student organizations and good academic standing.

    Criteria: For meritorious students with financial need who has contributed 50 hours of volunteer service.

  • Tanner Leong Memorial Scholarship

    Criteria: For a student with a solid foundation in basic sciences; a questioning mind; a work ethic reflecting perseverance, self-reliance, and initiative; a willingness to accept responsibility in the face of financial need; and collegiality and a positive attitude. The student must have current membership in the Illinois Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

    Criteria: Recipients shall have a high level of financial need and preference shall be given to students who are US citizens or permanent residents from the State of Illinois.

    Criteria: To support graduate students within the Unit. Recipients shall be students in their second, third or fourth-year and who display financial need and are in good academic standing.

    Criteria: The fund shall support junior or senior student(s) planning to pursue a career in food animal medicine. These students shall be chosen on the basis of interest in food animal medicine and need.

    Criteria: For students who demonstrate an interest in early mentoring in a 24-hour full-service facility with the goal of setting up, shadowing and learning in a real-world environment.

    Criteria: For a native or resident of McHenry County with financial need.

  • Dr. Christopher Moberly Scholarship in Veterinary Medicine

    Criteria: For a student with excellent leadership qualities who exhibits potential of good surgical skills, has excellent abilities in communicating with clients, is respected by classmates, and exhibits sensitivity and compassion for the wellness of all living creatures.

  • Susan C. Morisato and Thomas M. Remec Community Medicine Scholarship Fund

    Sponsor: Mr. Remec and Ms. Morisato

    Criteria: Recipients shall demonstrate an interest in community medicine and intend to practice in shelter medicine or have a private practice in Illinois. Recipients shall be selected in consultation with the Director of Community Medicine, or their designee.

  • Roma and Carol Ann Most Award in Veterinary Medicine

    Criteria: For a female student who is a resident of Illinois with an interest in small animals and demonstrated financial need.

  • Nestlé Purina Award for Excellence in Companion Animal Nutrition

    Criteria: For a student who demonstrates excellence and a strong interest in companion animal nutrition.

  • Northern Lakes Equine Practice Scholarship

    Sponsor: Northern Lakes Equine Practice

    Criteria: For an equine-focused fourth-year student who intends to pursue equine medicine, ideally in private practice.

  • OTS Advisor Scholarship

    Sponsor: The OTS Theta Chapter and Alumni

    Criteria: For a member of the Omega Tau Sigma veterinary fraternity based upon an essay describing how he or she has personally demonstrated the spirit of OTS.

  • Christine K. and David M. Heine Otto Award

    Sponsor: Christine K. and David M. Heine

    Criteria: For demonstrated compassion when interacting with clients of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, leadership and communication skills, and a strong interest in the human-animal bond.

  • Prater Family Scholarship Fund

    Criteria: For demonstrated financial need and academic merit. Scholarship can be renewable for recipients who remain in good standing.

  • Severn Provus and Birdell Eck Provus Scholarship

    Criteria: For a student with financial need who is pursuing a career in small animal medicine; preference is given to minority students as well as those with experience at a humane society or animal shelter.

    Sponsor: Evelyn Puhse Carapella and the Edwardsville Kennel Club

    Criteria: For a resident of Madison, St. Clair, Jersey, or Macoupin counties who has shown satisfactory academic progress and who plans to enter small animal practice.
