Grace is a first-year student from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, with an interest in small animal and zoological companion animal medicine in a general practice setting. Throughout her career, she plans to prioritize affordable care for communities in need.

Alex Castillo

Alex Castillo

Alex is a first-year student from Elmwood Park, Illinois. He is interested in small or mixed animal practice with an emphasis on emergency medicine, but hopes to incorporate his passion for exotics into his work. He works part time as a customer service agent at a grocery store and as a barber to help pay for school. This summer he will gain more hands-on experience through paid externships.

Julia Bellefontaine

Julia Bellefontaine

Julia, a first-year student from Algonquin, Illinois, has interests in both primary care general practice and small animal emergency medicine (particularly within a multi-specialty hospital). She plans to use externships to get more experience and exposure. She has wanted to be a veterinarian since a very young age and is grateful for the opportunity to pursue her passion.

Hillary Austin

Hillary is a first-year student from Lockport, Illinois. She is interested in small animal general practice and equine medicine. After graduating, Hillary plans to move back to the Chicago suburbs to begin her career as a veterinarian.
