Criteria: For meritorious students with financial need who has contributed 50 hours of volunteer service.

Brianna Moore
Brianna is a third-year student from Dayton, Ohio. She is interested in oncology, feline medicine, and research and plans to specialize in oncology. She wants to continue doing research and also give back to the community by volunteering at shelters' spay/neuter and vaccine clinics.

Akasha Gahol
Akasha, a second-year student from Chicago, Illinois, is very passionate about emergency medicine and wishes to work in a high-volume ER after graduation. She also wants to explore other career interests, such as earning a public health degree and specializing in oncology. Akasha hopes her future career involves community education and providing veterinary care to underprivileged communities.

Grey D’Andrea
Grey, a third-year student, is originally from Oakland, California, but has lived in Illinois since 2016 and worked in neuroscience and ecology research for 5+ years before entering veterinary school. They are passionate about laboratory animal research, neurology, soft tissue surgery, and research in those areas. They want to make the veterinary field more equitable and welcoming to all and to expand the presence of LGBTQ/queer, mixed-race and Latinx workers.

Emma Coursey
Emma, a first-year student from Bushnell, Illinois, has a passion for mixed animal medicine, specifically swine. This summer, she will be gaining valuable hands-on experience at Carthage Veterinary Service through the Swine Veterinary Internship Program hosted by Iowa State University.
