2-Factor Authentication (2FA) Guide

Two-factor authentication provides protection for sensitive data by requiring something you know (your NetID and password) and something you have (your mobile device) to access certain university systems. Without 2FA, the University of Illinois System is at risk of data breaches that result in financial and legal risk.

Note: A smartphone with the DUO application is the quickest and easiest way to authenticate.  If you are unable to use a smartphone, a small portable device, called a hardware token, can be obtained to allow you to authenticate.  Please email BSC@Vetmed.illinois.edu for further information.
