critical care service!

 

Our service is rapidly expanding, and our new facilities support this growth. We currently have two boarded criticalists, two full-time ER veterinarians, six ECC residents, one ECC intern, nine rotating interns, and 30 certified veterinary technicians, including three with VTS (ECC) certification.

Today, we see a robust caseload with a solid referral base using state-of-the-art equipment in our newly renovated facilities. Our faculty thrive because of our talented and experienced technicians dedicated to the service.

  • Brand-new spacious facility for 24/7 ER and ICU, with state-of-the-art diagnostics and therapeutics, on-site blood bank, and conveniently located radiology suite
  • Special equipment: 6 oxygen cages, Siemens Maquet Servo-i and Puritan Bennett mechanical ventilators, Vapotherm Precision Flow Hi-VNI, Viscoelastic Coagulation Monitor, Nova Prime Plus, continuous ECG, direct & indirect blood pressure, oxygen saturation, capnography, temperature monitoring, and telemetry system
  • Hemodialysis service for blood purification and advanced renal support to launch by end of 2021
  • Intermediate care ward for hospitalized patients that do not require constant monitoring and separate urgent/convenient care service for non-emergent patients (9a to 6p)

We’re Investing in Our Programs

A $12 million hospital-wide renovation and expansion project wraps up this year. Over the past six years we’ve added:

  • A 9,000 sq ft small animal surgery win with 8 ORs, including an interventional radiology suite
  • A state-of-the-art linear accelerator and a new 128-slice CT to support its use
  • A 3T MRI
  • A new facility for small animal primary care, zoological medicine specialty service, and our Wildlife Medical Clinic
