Ecosystems

Ecosystems are interrelated – every part of an ecosystem needs the other parts to survive. If something harms one part, the other parts are harmed too. It is like knocking down one domino in a circle of dominoes. All the other dominoes fall too.

The human population is growing. More resources and space are needed for the extra people. Human population growth and land use causes problems for ecosystems. When humans share ecosystems with wildlife, there is competition for the resources in the ecosystem.
