Habitats

Food, water, shelter, and space – these are the four things all living creatures need to live happy lives. When we get back from school, we get a snack from the refrigerator, play in our back yards, and go to sleep in our beds; all of our needs are met in the places we call home.

Just like us, wild animals and even plants need homes, or "habitats," where they can find food, water, shelter, and space to move around. Different animals require different habitats, and there are many types of habitat, each one defined by the land, water, climate, and plant life we can find there.
