In 2012, Dr. Amy Kubier completed her small animal internal medicine residency, became boarded by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Small Animal), joined the teaching hospital faculty as clinical assistant professor and was awarded the Dr. Walter E. Hoffmann and Dr. Ann L. Johnson Resident Teaching Excellence Award.

Dr. Kubier's research interests include causes of low blood platelet count, canine nasal disease, canine obesity, and inappetent cats and dogs.
