Dr. Domenico Santoro treats dermatologic conditions in everything from dogs and cats to farm animals and exotic animals. His education and experience span Europe and the United States, and he is board certified by both the American and the European Colleges of Veterinary Dermatology. His doctoral research, completed in his native Italy, looked at canine atopic dermatitis and canine leishmaniasis, a parasitic disease spread by sand flies, and he serves on the International Committee of Atopic Disease in Animals (ICADA). He continues to study the immunology involved in atopic dermatitis in dogs.
Dr. Santoro loves small breed dogs, particularly the Yorkshire terrier and the Jack Russell Terrier but also middle breeds like Labrador retriever. Back in Italy he has a cute Yorkshire mix and a cat, and the two are the best of friends.
