Dr. Ronald D. Smith, formerly the director of Medical Informatics, has assumed the role and duties of director of Instructional Computing. In this capacity he will assist faculty in developing courses that use computers for teaching purposes. He will continue in his role of College Webmaster.
Dr. Richard L. Wallace has been named director of Instructional Programming, with responsibility for prioritizing faculty needs for programming assistance in developing courses for on-line delivery and in supervising the staff to be hired to assist in that area.
Dr. Arthur M. Siegel is director of Medical Informatics, coordinating the development of VADDS and VetStar software in veterinary clinical medicine, and assisting in the orientation of faculty and staff for the use of these programs.
Dr. H. Fred Troutt moved to a faculty teaching and research role in the theriogenology/food safety area as of December 1, 1998. Many advances were achieved in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine during his 10 years of leadership there. Dr. Ann L. Johnson agreed to serve as interim head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine. A national search will be undertaken to identify a new head for the department.
