Celebration Begins for Colleges 50th Anniversary
On October 6 more than 500 students, staff members, faculty, and other friends filled the Atrium for a reception that kicked off the festivities. Attendees were greeted by Dean Ted Valli and by Dr. Robert Twardock (56), chair of the 50th Anniversary committee. Dr. Earl Lutz (52), a member of the first class who serves on the 50th Anniversary committee, was on hand and was interviewed by a local television station covering the event. Music, refreshments, historical highlights, and the debut of a photomural display (left, with Marlene Woodward, Lori Heinz, and Laura Curtis, all of veterinary clinical medicine) were all made possible through generous sponsorship from Ralston Purina. The event set the stage for additional 50th activities at the October Fall Conference for Veterinarians (see page 3) and at the Open House and Anniversary Gala on April 10.
