Dr. Norman L. Earp (64), of Peoria, Illinois, died September 20. He was the owner and veterinarian at Hollys Animal Hospital in Peoria from the time he graduated until his death. He also provided services to the Glen Oak Zoo, the Peoria Area Welfare Shelter, and the Canine Corps of the Peoria Police Deparment.
Dr. Paul Fitzgerald, professor emeritus of parasitology, died September 23. He served in the Navy during WWII and then earned a PhD from Utah State University. He served on the faculty from 1965 until 1985, when he retired to Springville, Utah.
Dr. Eugene Nelson (57), of Morton, Illinois, died August 21. He practiced veterinary medicine in Morton from 1965 until his death. Dr. Nelson served in the Army during the Korean War.
Dr. Jesse Payne, Jr. (54), of Tupelo, Mississippi, died August 17. His 40-year career with the Meat and Poultry Inspection Program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture was devoted to national policies for food safety and public health. During his career he held every elected and appointed position in the National Association of Federal Veterinarians.
