phone app If you’re a referring veterinarian who uses an Android or iPhone, being connected to the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of Illinois is a whole lot easier. Available this week on the App Store is a free phone app called Illinois DVM. The College of Veterinary Medicine is excited to be able to offer this convenient capability to our referring veterinarians.

Illinois DVM phone app was specifically designed for referring veterinarians. The app will provide a single means by which they can access information from both the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Access to either service unit will include these features:

  • Contact numbers (click to call)
  • Email addresses
  • Make payments
  • Website links

Resources in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory section include:

  • Diagnostic lab results
  • Diagnostic lab fees
  • Access invoices
  • Information on how to submit and ship samples

Resources in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital section include:

  • Chemotherapy guidelines
  • Drug withdrawal times for dermatology cases
  • Estimated costs of common procedures

We plan to add more features in the future, such as tips on treating certain critical cases, how-to videos, and other species-specific information, making future versions even more beneficial to veterinarians.
