This handbook
has been developed as a general guideline for users of the laboratories.
The procedures outlined here are not the only approach to arriving
at a diagnosis, but represent a consensus of our staffs. These procedures
will enable us to do the best possible job for you.
You
are encouraged to call or write the laboratories concerning particular
services.
It
is the policy of the laboratories to work through local veterinarians
since they can evaluate client-producer's problems and identify
those problems requiring laboratory assistance. Materials should
be submitted by, or at the direction of the veterinary practitioner.
Results of examinations, tests, and analyses will be returned
to the veterinary practitioner for consideration in formulating
a diagnosis and recommending action.
