Reportable Diseases

 

a) Suspected cases of the following diseases shall be reported immediately to the Department:
Anthrax Hog Cholera

Piroplasmosis

Scabies – cattle and sheep
Avian Influenza Infectious Encephalomyelitis – avian Plague Scrapie
Bluetongue

Infectious Laryngotracheitis

Pseudorabies
(Aujeszky's Disease)
Transmissible Spongiforme Encephalopathy (TSE)
Brucellosis
– bovine, swine, equine and caprine
Monkeypox Psittacosis (Ornithosis) Trichinellosis
Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) – cervids Mycoplasma Gallisepticum – turkeys Pullorum Disease Tuberulosis – bovine
Contagious Equine Metritis Mycoplasma Synoviae – turkeys Q Fever Tularemia
Equine Infectious Anemia Newcastle Disease Rabies Vesicular conditions of any type
Equine Viral Encephalitides Paramyxovirus Infection – avian Salmonella Enteritidis –poultry West Nile Virus
Fowl Typhoid Paratuberculosis
(Johne's disease)
Salmonella Typhimurium –poultry  
Any contagious or infectious disease presently considered as "exotic", i.e., not known to exist in the United States.

b) Any herd owner, flock owner, veterinarian or other person having knowledge of the disease, failing to report a suspect case of any of the above disease immediately after discovery, or who is responsible for the spread of the disease, shall be subject to penalty as provided by law.
