Welcome to the website for the Illinois Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. We are a club at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and we are excited to get students involved with shelter medicine. Please explore the site and let us know if you have any questions. We will post updates often on upcoming events, related news, and shelter information.
We are a very active club. Last year alone we assisted with the sterilization of over 300 animals (264 cats and 39 dogs)! We also had 7 lunch lectures and numerous volunteering opportunities. Feel free to contact us (sheltervetmed@gmail.com) with any questions, and please consider joining!

We are very proud of our recent fundraiser for Danville Humane Society. Our club raised enough funds to be able to donate 27 Kuranda dogs beds! Thank you to everyone who helped and donated! To see coverage of the donations see below:
