A JOURNEY TO THE PAST:  ULTRASTRUCTURE OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM IN HEALTH AND DISEASE
Review of the role of electron microscopy in investigating neurologic disease, includes viral encephalitis (distemper) and structures mistaken for viruses such as in distemper and rabies; also will touch on toxoplasma and neospora.

The Identification and Interpretation of Gross Changes in the CNS and PNS - Malformations, inflammations and so on - putting gross findings all together.

Dr. Summers is Professor of Comparative Neuropathology, Royal Veterinary College, University of London, UK. A Veterinary Science graduate of the University of Melbourne, he obtained his Master's degree at the University of London and PhD from Cornell University. He joined the faculty of the Department of Pathology in 1980. Dr. Summers spent his sabbatic leave in 1987-1988 at St. Edmund's College, University of Cambridge, England. He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. In 1995 he published a textbook entitled Veterinary Neuropathology with Drs. J.C. Cummings and A. de Lahunt.
