Research Interests: My research interests include the development of novel animal models for use in high throughput screening of bacterial vaccine candidates. I am also interested in the rapid identification of bacterial pathogens via the application of molecular techniques and the exploration of genetic relatedness of pathogenic bacteria via genotyping methods and hierarchical cluster analysis.
Teaching:
I participate in teaching veterinary students in the Veterinary Diagnostic rotation (PATH 669). I also lead weekly histology rounds for student members of the Illinois student chapter of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. I routinely present necropsy and biopsy data at monthly college-wide Grand Rounds which are well attended by faculty from all departments and students from all years.
