| Omega Tau Sigma, the professional veterinary fraternity, is proud to host the 18th annual 5K Road Race for Animals. The run/walk serves to promote the health of our community and to celebrate the human-animal bond. Road Race For Animals is OTS' biggest annual charity event. Proceeds benefit Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that provides highly trained assistance dogs to individuals with disabilities, and A Pet's Place, an organization run by students at the College of Veterinary Medicine that is dedicated to ensuring proper treatment and medical care for pets of abused woman in the area. Last year, with the help of our wonderful local sponsors, we raised over $1,000 for these non-profits. This year Road Race For Animals will be on September 25th. The start will be at 8:00 a.m. Registration packets may be picked up from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd, in the Basic Sciences Building (south entrance by the cafeteria), or from 6:30-7:30 am on race day (September 25th) at the check-in table in the Vet Med parking lot. The Basic Sciences Building is located at 2001 S. Lincoln Ave in Urbana.
