Kelly DeBaene,
University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2011 was at APHIS National Wildlife Disease Program this summer, she helped write a proposal for a national surveillance project concerning SIV in feral swine. The link to the article is: Swine_Influenza_Virus_Article.
Two past graduates of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and current contributors to the educational programs of the Center for One Health Illinois are currently serving as officers within the prestigious Epidemic Intelligence Service of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Emily Wheeler-Lankau, DVM (UIUC 2010), PhD (UIUC 2010) is serving at CDC headquarters in Atlanta in the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. Dr. Rachael Joseph, VMD (Penn 2007), MPH (JHU 2011); food animal internship (UIUC 2008) is serving at the San Diego, CA, County Health Department.
