Dean Search Finalists Announced

Three finalists for the position of dean at the College of Veterinary Medicine were announced today through the Office of the Provost at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The finalists will each present a public presentation, addressing the topic "Vision for a 21st Century College of Veterinary Medicine," as part of the campus interview process later this month.

In making the announcement, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost Ilesanmi Adesida thanked the 15 members of the search committee for their time and commitment.

All presentations are scheduled for 4 pm in Room 2251 Veterinary Medicine Basic Science Building, 2001 South Lincoln Avenue, Urbana. Following each presentation, there will be a public reception, beginning at 5 p.m., in the atrium of the building.

During the past six years, the College of Veterinary Medicine has put intensive effort into re-inventing the professional veterinary curriculum and into developing a prominent clinical presence in Chicago. The novel and highly regarded integrated curriculum now fully implemented at the College is a model for the future of veterinary education. At this critical juncture, the College is pursuing an ambitious strategic plan to build on current educational and clinical service achievements and to redouble the focus on research excellence in order to gain recognition among the top tier of veterinary colleges worldwide.
