Fun Worth Howling for at Oskee Boo Wow Masquerade

Dress your pets in their spook-tastic Halloween costumes and let them strut their alter egos at the fourth annual Oskee "Boo" Wow masquerade on Tuesday, October 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, 2001 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Humane Connection Fund at the College's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The fund allows clinicians to "go the extra mile" for animal patients with owners of limited means.

For more entertainment, judges will be present to select the best-dressed pets. Among the panel of judges will be local celebrities Kirby and Cindy Pringle - famous for their humorous books filled with whimsical photographs of "dog people,"WILL's very own weatherman Mike Sola, and Illinois basketball head coach's wife, Megan Weber. Serving as the fourth judge is Harriett Weatherford, founder of the Human Connection Fund. T

Hors d'oeuvres and wines (for humans) will be served by English Hedgerow, jim gould, Kennedy's at Stone Creek, L.A. Gourmet, and Piccadilly Wines. Other goodies for your trick-or-treat stash will be provided by Cousins Dog Biscuit Company and US Bones.

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital is the state's most comprehensive veterinary facility, providing specialty, general, and emergency services for all species and caring for more than 15,000 animal patients every year.

Registration is $50 a person and $10 a pet. To register, call the College of Veterinary Medicine, (217) 333-2761, or visit vetmed.illinois.edu/advancement.
